Mental Health Professionals

We are happy to work with mental health professionals to provide interventions that are effective at treating the root cause of learning and thinking challenges of your patients and clients.

If an individual has cognitive deficits, it not only negatively impacts their success in the classroom or workplace, but it impedes and slows progress in therapy.

Having poor logic skills, weak attention span, or low memory can make learning and implementing mental health strategies from DBT, CBT, reframing, and others difficult and in some cases, nearly impossible. While we do not offer mental health services, we partner with you to support the mental health work you are doing by improving the thinking and learning capacity of your clients and patients.

We know that learning difficulties and disorders often lead to or are co-occurring with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and addiction. By addressing the cognition, recovery and odds of treatment progress and success are increased. 

Reasons mental health providers refer patients to us:

  • Treatment for cognitive deficits that are slowing down or prohibiting progress with mental health therapies
  • Psychoeducational Testing to diagnose learning disabilities and disorders such as dyslexia or ADHD
  • Get to the root cause of learning difficulties for the challenging, treatment resistant cases where there has been medication failure, intolerance, or simply lack of success with other interventions such as vision therapy, speech therapy, or occupational therapy
  • Non-pharmacological treatment alternative or complimentary treatment to ADHD medications
  • Treat learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia
  • Help families with school placement and to determine which therapeutic interventions will be most helpful for struggling learners
  • Support school and test performance for students with test, school, or performance anxiety
  • Provide an alternative to traditional schooling through Nectar Academy for children undergoing intensive outpatient therapy, those undergoing other medical treatments, adolescents in substance abuse recovery, students with mental health challenges that have resulted in school refusal, students returning from inpatient, wilderness programs, or other settings where they have been away from the family and school and need to stair step back into traditional schooling, and families going through difficult medical or personal situations that require a customized option for schooling
  • Improve learning and school performance for patients with developmental delays
  • Increase cognitive function in patients with high functioning autism spectrum disorders
  • Cognitive rehabilitation for Concussions, Brain Injuries, and Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • Repair damage done from substance abuse
  • Improve cognitive function in age-related cognitive decline or in the early stages of dementia related degeneration
  • Holistic treatment using the Six Keys to Unlocking Learning Potential (nutrition, resiliency, sleep, mental exercise, movement, and environment) of learning and thinking challenges to improve performance in the classroom, workplace, and life

Refer a patient:

We will always complete a phone intake for referrals and offer a complimentary consultation with one of our educational and cognitive consultants to determine the best next steps. If we determine we are not the right fit for your client or patient, we will work to provide an appropriate referral. We are happy to communicate with you to whatever degree is desired to maintain continuity of care.

To refer, simply have your patient email, text, or call us. They can come to our website and schedule a consultation or call. You can also complete a referral form. We’ll reach out to you or the patient (whichever is appropriate) within 24 hours.
