Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, and we have answers!

  • Are your programs one-on-one?
All of our programs for Children, Teens, and Adults are one-on-one. Additionally, we offer Senior programs that are both one-on-one and designed for group sessions.
  • Will I see the same coach every time?
We match each client with the cognitive coaches that are right for them. Sometimes this means you may only work with one coach, and at others, you may have the opportunity to work with several of our amazing team members. Because the client-coach relationship is so important to success, we want to ensure you or your child forms a real connection with their trainer.
  • What are the qualifications of your staff?
Every member of our team has undergone multiple interviews and rigorous testing. Once selected, staff members passed thorough background checks, completed an intensive 40-hour training program, observed sessions, and completed testing for our certification process.  Additionally, staff complete ongoing training and development on a monthly basis. All of our staff have at least a Bachelor’s degree with the majority having advanced degrees. All coaches have extensive experience in education, and many are certified teachers.
  • Do you diagnose learning disabilities?
The short answer: No. We are not medical doctors. As such, we do not diagnose learning disabilities. We are happy to refer you to a medical practitioner. For our purposes, however, we are not as concerned with a diagnosis as much as we are with the root issues we uncover with our cognitive abilities assessment. Our focus is on overcoming the challenges, not providing a label.
  • Is cognitive training something my child can receive at school through a 504 plan or an IEP?
Schools provide assistance with academics, not cognitive skills, and through IEPs and 504 plans, they accommodate and compensate for a child’s learning challenges. Schools do not provide cognitive training or, typically, even one-on-one tutoring. Even the best schools are not set up to provide this type and level of intervention. We are, however, more than happy to work with your child’s educators to help your child be as successful as possible.
  • How much does a program cost?
Programs are individualized and customized to the needs of every client. The first step is always to complete an assessment to find out if a program is right for you. And, if it is, we’ll determine together what type of program you need. We’ll take you through this process step-by-step, tailoring the program to need and budget, but only after you or your child has taken an assessment.
  • How much does testing cost?
Testing costs depend on the needed testing package. Our staff will walk you through this process and help pick the best choice for you or your child. All testing includes a comprehensive consultation with our Executive Director, spending as much time as is necessary to review test results, answer all your questions, and build a plan for reaching your goals. And while the testing can be customized as desired, here are some of our basic costs: Adult Healthy Brain Check-up $249.00, Child or Adult Comprehensive Cognitive and Achievement Testing $499.00, Diagnostic Reading Battery $249.00
  • How long does the testing take and how soon will I get my results?
Testing times vary from 1 to 4.5 hours depending on the testee and the test battery being given. You will receive your results as part of your consultation. And depending upon availability, your consultation may be scheduled as soon as 48 hours after testing.
  • Does insurance cover your programs?
Rarely, but sometimes. We are happy to provide invoices for cognitive training that include the medical CPT codes. With those codes, you can submit your cognitive training costs to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.  Depending on circumstance and coverage, insurance companies will reimburse for part or the entire claim. Our advice, however, is to always be prepared to pay for your program out of pocket. If you discover your insurance covers your program, we can guide you through the process.  Many of our clients are able to receive reimbursement from their healthcare flexible spending accounts (HFSA), but every plan is different and often dependent on a formal diagnosis. Check with your healthcare provider for more information. Additionally, we recommend checking with your tax advisor for relevant deductions. Cognitive training can sometimes be stated as a medical or educational expense.
  • Is there a family discount?
Because our services are highly individualized for each client, administrative requirements mean that we do not offer a family discount. For testing, however, we do offer a family rate. We also offer a $50 discount for each family member who tests after the first.
  • Do you offer payment plans?
We offer a monthly payment option. And we’re always happy to discuss payment plans with you. For some financial savings, we also offer a paid-in-full rate.
  • How long are your programs?
Just as with cost, because of their individualized nature, programs can vary significantly by length. Our shortest cognitive brain training programs are 36 hours and the longest are 160 hours. Program length will be decided in the consultation phase.
  • How many sessions will I have per week?
This depends upon your availability. However, successful brain training is dependent upon the frequency of exposure. As such, programs vary from 2-4 sessions per week.
  • Is there homework?
Our cognitive brain training is limited to scheduled sessions, however, depending on the frequency of your coach-led sessions, in order to reach your desired goals, an online program may be created. This is not homework but a part of the program designed by the executive director.
  • How will I know my program is working?
As you progress in your program and begin to truly change your brain, you’ll begin to see the positive effects in your everyday life. In each session, we use benchmarks so we know how you or your child is progressing. We closely monitor all progress and relay this information to you at scheduled conferences and in regular updates. Finally, at the completion of every program, you or your child will retest to compare your results from before the program and after.
  • How long does it take to see results?
When you see results depends on where you are starting and how well you respond to intervention. Most clients see about 75% of their results in the second halves of their programs.
  • Where are you located?
We are headquartered in Denver, CO. But we do provide services both online and in-person. We are happy to bring services onsite to schools, learning centers, and senior communities. To learn about locations where we offer testing and training, please Contact Us.
